A recap on how you too can score great deals! with
Lets face it, in this day and age most of us want a good price, a great deal and little effort. Most have seen the TV shows where people spend 20+ hours weekly clipping coupons, scouring deals, and then 3-5 hours in the store shopping. Here in the real world.. I cant do that. I work full time, I have a home to take care of and other things that do not allow that sort of time and patience.
Now if you have been following this blog you will see that I mainly post items that you can go, click on and download a coupon to get said item for a discount or for free. There are many other things you can do yourself to save even more. I get a weekly red plum coupon insert in my mail each week and then another set of coupons with the Sunday Insert/paper I get. I also Have family and Friends save certain insets for me if there is something great In one of them.
You can also use other savings programs such as cartwheel from target, and the target mobile coupons, you can use the Ibotta program that gives rewards for what you buy.
And of course you can use the printable coupons from coupons.com red plum.com and many others.
Start making yourself a small stock of coupons, or a big one. I have learned to bring my coupon binder with me when I shop just because there are unadvertised deals, and I would see the deal and smack myself for not having the coupon with me.
I would say, in 1 weeks time I may spend an hour cutting, separating and planning to get my items.
I don't have a giant stock pile, I may buy extra if it is a great deal, but I do not have more than can be used in 6 months, and that's a personal preference.
Some items keep longer than others and if you have the room you can stock up on meats, Milk and staples when they are cheap.
Many items are seasonal, and only go on sale ever six months or so, this is your 6 month stock up!
Know your stores coupon policies, some only allow a set amount of like coupons.
some stores such as target allow you to use both store and manufacture coupons together on the same item!
Giant Eagle doubles coupons, sometimes it is worth it, some times you have to wait until the item is on a sale with the double coupon for it to make a shopping trip worth while.
You can not be a one store loyal person I'm afraid. I shop all over from Aldis to walmart, target to Marcs. just to make sure I'm getting the best price on my products.
Take what time you have, clip coupons, look at the circulars, print out online offers and coupons and save! in the long run your hour spend saving could save you big $$.

Another small win in the shopping world
Today I ventured to target to use some of my mobile coupons before the expired. I did not get a lot but the value of what I did get is a lot!
So I got, 1 3/b bag of chicken breasts, 2 packages of 1lb hamburger meat,1 package of mushrooms, 1 package of romaine Lettuce, 8 bananas and 1 container of cleaning wipes.
All for $13 and some change
Here is How, I had two sets of coupons for my phone, so i had to make this two transactions. I did as follows:
Transaction 1
Frozen chicken on sale for $5.99-$1.25 coupon=4.74
romaine lettuce $1.79-$1.00 coupon=.79
Hamburger $3.99-$1.00=2.99
Bananas 4 for $.96-$1.00=free
Transaction 2
Cleaning wipes $2.66-$1.00=$1.66
mushrooms $2.66-$1.00=$1.66
hamburger $3.99-$1.00=$2.99
Bananas 4 for $.96-$1.00=free
not to hard to do nor did it take a long time, but worth the savings and extra little trip on my way to do other errands!
